The term tensile refers to the capability of the material being stretched or pulled out of shape.

Tensiles come in a variety of shapes and sizes, round or flat, depending on the type of material. Typically the largest standard size (.500, .350, .250”) is fabricated per ASTM E8, ASTM A370 (steel), or ASTM B557 (aluminum) from the raw material. Tensiles are also fabricated to ISO, JIS, DIN, or your print.

Tensile Testing's capacity includes:
  • Subsize to about 3/4” length
  • Room Temperature to 1600ºF on Round or Flat
  • Hardness to 55 HRC
  • Heat Treat Capability
  • Young's Modulus (E)

Other Types of Tensiles

  • "A" Bar
  • "B" Bar
  • "C" Bar
  • Cast Bar
