Fastener testing as required by the Fastener Quality Act (1990) protects the public safety by assuring that fasteners sold in business conform to the specifications to which they are represented to be manufactured, requiring inspection, testing and certification in accordance with standardized methods.

Tensile Testing Metallurgical Laboratory carries out a variety of these tests including two specialty tests:

• Rotational Capacity (Ro Cap) with Capacity to 2" (AASHTO & ASTM Methods)

• Stress Durability (Hydrogen Embrittlement)
