 After receiving most steel samples, the material goes to our saw department where the samples are sectioned per instructions, identified with steel stamps or etched, and centered drilled.
There are 6 Marvel saws. A hydraulic shear is used on plate material to 3/8" thick. There are 2 cut off saws. Wire EDM is available for super hard material. Capacity includes: Test specimens are routinely extracted from large forgings, like the one pictured here, or specific areas of intricate parts.  |
